A Mexico vs. Brazil showdown is booked for UFC 306, which takes place at Sphere in Las Vegas as Yazmin Jauregui and Ketlen Souza have agreed to meet in a strawweight showdown, both athletes confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report by ESPN Deportes.
The promotion has yet to announce a headlining attraction for the Sept. 14 pay-per-view.
Jauregui (11-1) has won three of four fights since joining the UFC in 2022, going 2-1 against Brazilian opponents. A tournament winner for Combate Global, Jauregui has scored seven of her wins by knockout. In her most recent octagon appearance this past February, the Mexican talent topped Sam Hughes via unanimous decision.
Souza (14-4) defeated Marnic Mann via decision this past April to improve to 1-1 under the UFC banner.
“Esquentadinha” joined the promotion after winning the Invicta FC flyweight title by defeating Kristina Williams in 2023, adding to a collection that includes belts won on the Brazilian regional scene, with the Standout Fighting Tournament bantamweight crown and Mr. Cage strawweight gold.
