Conor McGregor‘s cursed return to the octagon could well be behind us after the Irishman’s latest revelation.

‘The Notorious’ has spent over a year planning to return to competition, but several unfortunate circumstances have prevented that from happening. His most recent setback saw him miss out on headlining UFC 303, but he remains confident that fans will get to witness his comeback some time in 2024.

As he edges closer to full fitness, Conor McGregor has been releasing short clips of himself training. The Dublin native not only has his sights set on a UFC return, but he has also expressed an interest in stepping into the bare knuckle boxing ring.

Despite all signs pointing toward McGregor’s willingness to get back into the swing of things, Michael Chandler is beginning to lose patience. Chandler spoke out on social media, prompting a response from his potential next opponent.

Conor McGregor can now focus on returning to the octagon. According to reports, the former simultaneous two-division champion is looking ahead to UFC 310 in December for his next outing.

Michael Chandler has sacrificed a large chunk of the closing chapter of his MMA career chasing the fight against McGregor. The former Bellator ace coached The Ultimate Fighter alongside McGregor with hopes of facing him to cap off the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter. One year has since passed and that bout still hasn’t came to fruition.

If the fight does go ahead and is scheduled for the rumored December date, Chandler will have been out of action for over two years.

While Michael Chandler is adamant on facing Conor McGregor in his next matchup, he isn’t closing the door on everybody else. During the confusion of McGregor’s return, Chandler called for Nate Diaz to step in as the replacement — with UFC 306 at the Las Vegas Sphere being targeted.
