As expected, Dana White isn’t thrilled that MGM booked a Canelo Alvarez boxing card on the same date as UFC’s anticipated event at Sphere, UFC 306.

It was announced earlier this week that Alvarez faces Edgar Berlanga on Sept. 14 at T-Mobile Arena, just down the street from UFC’s blockbuster event headlined by Sean O’Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili for the bantamweight title.

Speaking with ESPN, White reacted to the decision to book Alvarez’s next bout at T-Mobile Arena on the same day as the promotion’s second Noche UFC themed card.

“Canelo’s one of those guys that I respect and, hey, good on [Al] Haymon,” White said. “Haymon snatched the date right away from me.

“The guys at MGM have done nothing but f*cking disrespect me and the UFC for 20 years. It is what it is. Here we go.”

White has promised for several months that UFC 306 would be one of the greatest combat sporting events of all-time.

Along with O’Malley vs. Dvalishvili, Alexa Grasso will defend her flyweight title in a trilogy bout in the co-main event.
