With the win, Patterson (12-2-1) improved to 2-1 as a UFC fighters. This past January at UFC 297, he defeated Yohan Lainesse in the first round via rear-naked choke submission.
Patterson was in complete control for most of this contest as his 6-foot-3 frame allowed him to befuddle Crosbie on the feet. Eventually, the two ended up grappling against the fence, where Patterson’s size and technique allowed him to take Crosbie down. Staying heavy on top, Patterson transitioned to an arm-triangle choke with plenty of leverage and Crosbie was forced to tap at the 2:57 mark of the opening round.
Crosbie (10-5) fell to 0-2 in the UFC, with both of his losses coming by first-round submission.
